A name column is required. A manager column draws the reporting lines, and it can hold the manager's name, email, or employee ID. Title and department are optional: the title shows under the name, and a department colours the boxes. Extra columns are ignored, so an export from Workday or BambooHR works as it is. A list with no header row is read as name, title, manager. The CSV template has these columns ready to fill in.
Yes. Choose Start from scratch and type the first name, then Add a report grows the chart one person at a time. Click any box to edit its details or remove it.
Yes. The PowerPoint download is a .pptx with one slide, and every person is a plain shape you can move and retitle. Visio gets the same boxes as native shapes. PNG suits a document or a chat message. SVG prints sharp at any size, and the print dialog saves a PDF.
No. The list is read in your browser and every file is built there too. The draft is kept in this browser's local storage so a refresh does not lose it, and Clear removes it. The people data never reaches a Sprooster server. If you later connect a directory instead, the privacy policy covers exactly how that synced data is handled.
The maker charts up to 2,000 people in the browser, and stacks a manager's reports in a column so a large team stays readable. Past a few hundred people a downloaded picture stops being useful, because it is out of date the week someone joins. An organization that size is better served by a chart that syncs from the directory.
No. There is no sign-up and no email gate, and the downloads carry no watermark. Sprooster makes the tool free because a company that has outgrown a static chart is the company that later wants one that updates itself, and that is the paid product.
A downloaded chart is a snapshot of the day you made it. To keep one current, generate it from the system that already knows about joiners, leavers, and reorgs: Sprooster syncs from Microsoft Entra ID, Google Workspace, BambooHR, or a scheduled CSV, and pricing is free up to 25 people. How the re-sync works.
