Org chart from Google Workspace
Sprooster builds a live org chart from your Google Workspace directory. Connect with read-only Admin SDK scopes — one-click OAuth as an admin, or a service account — and Sprooster reads each user's name, title, department, and Manager relationship, then re-syncs on a schedule so the chart never goes stale.

How does it connect?
Two ways, both read-only:
- One-click OAuth — a Workspace admin approves the connection in a browser. Fastest path; no console work.
- Service account with domain-wide delegation — the traditional Workspace integration shape, for orgs that prefer explicit scope grants in the Admin console.
Either way the scopes are the read-only Directory ones
(admin.directory.user.readonly and friends). Sprooster never writes to your
domain. The Google Workspace setup guide walks
through both options.
Where does the reporting line come from?
From the Manager field on each user's directory profile — the same relationship Google itself shows in Contacts. If that field is populated, your chart draws itself on the first sync. If it's patchy, Sprooster still renders everyone; people without a manager appear at the top level, which makes the gaps easy to spot and fix in Google Admin.
What fields does Sprooster read?
- Name (full, given, family)
- Job title and department, from the profile's organization entry
- Primary email
- Manager (draws the chart)
- Employee ID, when stored in Google's external IDs or a custom schema
Suspended and archived accounts drop off the chart on the next sync.
What about hire dates and birthdays?
Google Workspace has no standard fields for them. If your domain stores HR dates in a custom schema, point Sprooster at those fields and work anniversaries and birthdays light up in Milestones. If not, everything else works without them — no fake dates are invented.
How fresh is the chart?
The Directory API has no change feed, so Sprooster re-lists the directory on each scheduled run and applies the differences. New joiners, movers, and leavers show up without anyone touching the chart.
What does it cost?
Flat plans by synced headcount — free up to 25 people, and everyone in the company is included on every plan. See pricing.
Also syncs from Microsoft Entra ID, BambooHR, and CSV.
