Sprooster vs Pingboard
Pingboard and Sprooster both build the org chart from your people data rather than by hand. Pingboard, now part of Workleap, pairs the chart and directory with engagement features and charges per person, listed from about $4 a month billed annually. Sprooster keeps to the chart and charges flat by headcount, free up to 25 people.

What is Pingboard?
Pingboard is a cloud org chart and employee directory, sold as part of Workleap's employee experience platform. Beyond the chart it offers custom profiles with interests and skills, a Who's Who face-matching game, private planning charts for reorg scenarios, and calendars and statuses. People data arrives through HRIS integrations or an Excel upload. The details in this comparison were checked against Workleap's site and current buyer-pricing data on the date above.
How do they compare?
| Pingboard | Sprooster | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | Org chart and directory inside an employee experience suite | An org chart product on its own |
| Data in | HRIS integrations and Excel upload | Entra ID, Google Workspace, BambooHR, CSV |
| Pricing shape | Per person, listed from about $4 a month billed annually; buyer data shows $3 to $9 per person in practice | Flat by headcount: free, then $99, $299, or $699 a month |
| Free option | Free trial, no free plan | A free plan up to 25 people |
| Engagement extras | Who's Who game, statuses, the wider Workleap suite | None, on purpose |
The pricing shapes diverge as you grow, because an org chart is the one tool the whole company is in by definition. At 100 people, about $4 per person is roughly $400 a month against Sprooster's $99 flat. At 500 people the same math reads about $2,000 against $299.
When is Pingboard the better choice?
- You want the engagement layer. The Who's Who game and status features are built for distributed teams putting faces to names, and Sprooster has nothing like them.
- You are already buying Workleap. One vendor covers engagement surveys and the chart, on one contract.
- Your HR system is on their integration list and not ours. Sprooster syncs Entra ID, Google Workspace, BambooHR, and CSV; if your HRIS only has a direct connector on their side, weigh that against a CSV workflow.
When does Sprooster win?
- The bill at size. Per-person pricing multiplies by your headcount every month; a flat plan does not. The numbers above are the whole argument, and pricing shows every plan.
- The chart is the point. Sprooster spends its effort on the chart: multiple views, positions and teams, published share links, and an editable Visio export when the chart needs to leave as a file. See Sprooster vs PowerPoint and Visio for how that fits a deck workflow.
- Nobody is a seat. Every synced person gets the full product on every plan, including free.
How hard is the switch?
About 15 minutes: connect Entra ID, Google Workspace, or BambooHR source, or upload a CSV export from any HR system. Nothing is written back to your systems, and the chart draws itself from the manager fields you already maintain. Pricing is flat by headcount, free up to 25 people.
